So, we also provide just cleaning services so your second home or holiday cottage is still fresh and pleasant when you arrive. Our aim is to deliver the very best level of service to our holiday cottage owners. Within this industry, little things make a big difference. We don’t like wonky pictures, we don’t like broken lightbulbs, we don’t like crumbs under sofa cushions…
This isn’t a ‘one size fits all’ service – we will tailor the cleaning service for each property. However typically this will include;
- Airing all rooms in the cottage
- Wipe down/ dust surfaces
- Sweeping/ mopping and vacuuming floors
- Clean and sanitise kitchen & bathroom including the fridge, oven, and cupboards
- Sweep outdoor terraces/ patio and/or decking areas
- Clean windows and blinds

If there is no one keeping an eye on your Peak District cottage, anything might happen and you might not be aware until the problem has escalated. So if your cottage is left unoccupied for any period of time Cottage Team provide you with a weekly cottage security and maintenance checking service. This includes:
- Checks for forced entry, vandalism, storm or frost damage, pests, damp, checking fuel levels, guttering checks etc.
- Ensure heating, burglar alarm, fire protection systems etc. are set correctly and operational
- Key Holding / Access Management
- Mail Management – mail collection, mail re direction and junk mail disposal
- Meter readings – taking as required
We offer this support service at a fixed price of £75 a year per cottage.
We are recruiting part time housekeepers / cleaners for holiday cottages in the Peak District. Up to 10 hours per week. Team leaders, £10.50 / hour; Cleaners £8.50 / hour. Own transport.
We operate a mobile team approach to cleaning the cottages. This means that the location of work will vary from week to week – giving people the opportunity to work in different places and with different people, which helps keep things a bit more varied. The majority of the cottages are within 5 miles of Bakewell with a couple a little further afield.
The work is all year round but there are usually less hours in the winter months. We are advertising for up to 10 hours per week, which will usually spread over 2 or 3 days. The majority of work is on a Friday, Saturday or Monday – when cottage guests changeover, between the hours of 10am and 2pm. We do also have a need for staff on other days of the week, but currently that is not as frequent.
